Frilly and Funkie - Vacation Destination Through a Window

Today I have my project for the Frilly and Funkie challenge hosted by Buttons (Jenny).  Jenny wants us to think of our favorite, or ideal, holiday destinations.  Do you have a dream of traveling somewhere?  Where might that be?  The catch is you have to use a window in your project!

Since I couldn't pick just one destination I made a collection of three ATC cards along with a travel-themed ATC box.  Two of the ATC cards are dream destinations.  Any guess which two it might be??!!

The ATC box was made using a Sizzix Scoreboards die designed by Eileen Hull.  I used Tim's Destinations paper stash on the outside and then decorated it with some travel themed stamps and an Idea-ology word band.  For the ATC's I used the new Alterations Movers and Shapers Rectangles to cut an opening in a manila ATC.  I completed the window frame with additional strips of manila cardstock.  The window frame was mounted on top of the ATC card using foam tape to add some depth.

Destination #1-Paris!  Who wouldn't love to go to Paris??!!  Well, I guess there might be some people out there who wouldn't but I sure would!  For this card I used a text stamp from an older Stampers Anonymous set-French Marketplace-for the background.  The Eiffel Tower was stamped separately and colored before fussy cutting it.  Then I added it to the text background and stamped the small Fleur de Lis from the Paris to London stamp set.  I added the window frame and the small Paris label.  Both parts were distressed with various colors of distress ink.

Destination #2-London!  If I ever get to Paris I'm certainly not stopping there!  I'd also love to visit London!  This ATC was made using more images from the Paris to London stamp set.  I used the direct-to-rubber technique with distress markers to ink the stamps.

Destination #3-My Own Backyard!  Well, almost my own backyard.  I can drive less than 5 miles from my house, in any direction, and find a beach.  But I never go.  I've lived here all my life so it's something that I take for granted.  Lately though I've been feeling the need to go sit in the sand and listen to the waves crash onto the shore.  And, let's be honest, this is the only one of the three vacation destinations that will likely happen!!  I used various stamps from my personal stash on this one and my trusty ink blender and distress inks to create that sunset!

Below are a few more pictures of the ATC box.  This is a very cool die!  I covered my chipboard with paper prior to cutting the box...it's so much easier that way!  I used walnut stain distress ink around the edges and added a compass to the back of the box.

I hope you like my project and that you'll take a little vacation in your mind while you dream up something to enter in our challenge over at Frilly and Funkie!  You might win a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique!  And if you can't get to your favorite vacation destination you'll at least be able to pick up some new crafty supplies with the gift certificate!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

The following items that I used on my project can be found at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!  The boutique offers merchandise at up to a 20% discount from the typical retail price! That's a great deal and you should check it out!!
